We&#8217;ve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oakleyforum.com\/guides\/oakley-pit-boss-sunglasses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">already covered the other Oakley Elite pair, the Pit Boss<\/a>, so we won&#8217;t go into too much on them here. Instead, we&#8217;re focusing on the most expensive Oakley&#8217;s ever sold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, that&#8217;s right &#8211; upon their release in 2009, the Oakley C-Six was available in two colorways which ranged from $1500 to $4000!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And obviously, with price tags like that, both pairs were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oakleyforum.com\/guides\/oakley-carbon-prime-review\/\">limited editions<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only 1500 of the Aluminum colorways were ever made. Every media outlet had a clickbait-worthy article about $4000 sunglasses. And this ultimately dictated the sky-high price. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the Aluminum colorway does contain Carbon Fiber accents, while most of the frame is made of Aluminum and Titanium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using the super light Aluminum material made the total frame weigh in at 2 ounces. It&#8217;s also important to note that this Aluminum material is different than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oakleyforum.com\/guides\/oakley-x-metal-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">popular Titanium material used for the X-Metal line<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And both frames feature a full-frame design with aggressive cuts and sharp angles. But the colors just don&#8217;t excite us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During its release, the C-Six was available with Grey and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oakleyforum.com\/guides\/oakley-prizm-tungsten-polarized\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tungsten Iridium Polarized<\/a> lenses. And while we don&#8217;t have anything against these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oakleyforum.com\/guides\/oakley-sunglasses-lens-tint-color-guide\/\">lens tints<\/a>, we&#8217;d have loved to see something with a pop of color. Plus, this was before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oakleyforum.com\/guides\/oakley-prizm-lenses-prescription-sunglasses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prizm lenses<\/a> existed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now we should clarify. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re not saying we expected Oakley to turn around and throw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oakleyforum.com\/guides\/oakley-ruby-iridium-fire-iridium-lenses-differences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ruby Iridium lenses<\/a> into a pair of $4000 sunglasses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Would it be fantastic? YES. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Would the F1 driving, Yacht riding, super-rich luxury sunglasses crowd appreciate it? However, Oakley also produced and auctioned a Lance Armstrong autographed &#8220;Livestrong&#8221; Carbon Fiber C-Six. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This frame was first spotted on Lance during the final stage of the 2009 Tour De France.
