Bought my 10 year old son a set of these for Xmas. he rocks em whenever he can. Today was the first day in MANY WEEKS that sunglasses were even useful here in the midwest.

While I agree with your first statement about Oakley quality, I did not experience this fatigue. (I was worried as well) but 7 hours in the sun, out on the lake. They were just fine.
