If an item sells and is paid for then the customer will get the item. I would not "cancel the order and claim it was damaged or something" in order to try and eventually raise more money. Integrity and honesty have a far greater value than a few extra pounds.

Here you have to state a price and cannot auction for the super desirable pairs. Ebay captures a wider customer base and with some auctions it becomes possible to gauge an approximate value. I find it easier to list on ebay with photos and so on, and can build a buyer/seller profile on there.
