Maybe pop the lenses out before attempting this, just to be on the safe side.

Maybe ask @QLR1? I heard you have to wiggle it side to side while pulling with a lot of (EN)FORCE.

After consulting the OR, the answer I received from @The Game, was simple but accurate; just twist them off! Have them fully opened then holding with one hand on the earstem the other gripping the frame, just twist the earstem clockwise down, rotating your hand round also.
