Anyone Know Much About Frame Repair?

I bought a retro pair of Killer Loop (Bausch and Lomb) glasses a few months ago and shortly after broke off an end of a stem. It's certainly not a flexible material like O-Matter. Might be a plastic? Feels very similar to the material that Wayferers are made of.

I was turned down for repair by a local eyewear shop but they mentioned possible stem replacement. I'd rather keep these original stems if possible but am I SOL?
