Anyone still doing orbital stripped screw removal?

FYI, if you’re wanting to remove a stripped screw and don’t have the proper tools to get it out, a bath in ferric chloride will do the trick (a hour or so? I can’t remember). It won’t harm bare titanium. It will remove the “bone” finish cleanly, too, exposing the sandblasted Ti underneath. I’ve removed a screw once with this method and the bone finish several times (much easier than sandblasting it off).

Yeah, pretty much. Dark grey. Bare, blasted Ti. Rougher texture than the X-Metal finish, though. My guess is that they sandblast it and then bead-blast it to achieve that smoother finish.

hello. I just purchased some t6 screws to replace the missing one but it won’t tighten or the thread won’t catch it or something. what can I do? Please help.

Cut a standard round 2mm toothpick in half and try to screw the thick end into it. If there is thread left it will leave marks on the toothpick.
