The pin looks to be in great shape,and the "clamps/teeth" seem to move well in each direction,but apparently not enough to maintain a good enough bite on the pin. I've done quite a bit of searching for details,exploded view,and the like in hopes of possibly troubleshooting it...to no avail. Hence,my post here. Is there some cleaning I could try? I'm at your mercy as to the best plan of attack from here.

Did you try checking the spring inside clasp?
