Longtime sax player for the Stones passed away today.
Bobby Keys - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A fun-lovin' guy from Lubbock who started playing with Buddy Holly and the Crickets (!!!) and was Keith's playmate left his indelible mark on some of the greatest songs of all time with his distinctive style. In addition to his work with the Stones he played with many big names from Buddy Holly and Elvis to the somewhat eclectic like Jim Carroll. Younger folks will remember his fine work on Sheryl Crowe's third album.
Martin Scorsese got some really good interviews with Bobby in the Shine A Light documentary.
Rest in Peace, kid...
