Canteen - Ferrari Special Edition

The easiest way, if able, to get the whole package is to order a set through SGH and have them ship it to your house. I did this with my jade polar jup squared. Bnib.
The store told me that they were not able to do this, I had to come in and buy it. SGH.com doesn't carry them.

Hey everybody,

I just got off of the phone with SGH corporate and I received some disturbing news regarding the Special Edition Ferrari Canteen:

Most stores do not keep the boxes for ANY of the Oakley eyewear that they keep in stock. It is the policy of most stores to discard, i.e., throw away the outer boxes. I tried to make it clear to them that this is / can be a collector's item, depending on the individual, and that the box is part of the package.

So, if you are interested in acquiring a pair, please do yourself a favor and make a call to the store before you go there and ask them if they have the entire "package," if you will.

If they don't have the black "outer box", please make sure that they give you the red hard case, as the first SGH store seemed indifferent / unaware about this being included as well. They told me I could, "buy an Oakley case if I wanted a case for the glasses." Really? Thankfully, I was persistent while I was there!

Don't they have some sort of info about how to handle new releases like this? A training session? An internal memo?

However, I will say that the second store that I went to was very well informed about the release and that they did not throw away the outer Oakley boxes. They actually gave me an additional microfiber bag so I wouldn't have to use the Ferrari bag to clean my lenses. They were really nice and I appreciated their attention to detail; treating me with respect and respecting the value in everything that goes into the release of the special edition package.
A friend of mine manages a sunglass hut who is into Oakleys just as much as I am, but he said they HAVE to throw away their boxes because they simply just don't have the room for all of them (it's a small kiosk in the mall). He keeps all the Oakley collectors boxes he can so he keeps the Ferrari boxes of course. I mean it's understandable for the kiosks and even a small store. The small kiosk in my mall probably has 200-300 sunglasses to choose from on display so there's just no way they can store any extra inventory PLUS 200 boxes. It sucks though.

I understand the space constraints for kiosks. The store that I visited first was the largest of the three in the mall. Regarding the Special Edition Ferrari Canteen, they have to keep the hard case, don't they? The outer box fits tight around that hard case and it also keeps the paperwork in between the hard case and the outer box. Just my opinion that this is something they should be able to keep together because, I'm sure hoping, they aren't throwing away the red Ferrari hard cases to save space; are they? If so, they need to bring the prices on these way down, or offer an option. $240 for the package or $190 for the ones with ruby polarized lenses (just like the$190 price point for the BIP).

Oh yeah, they are definitely supposed to keep the hard cases. If some SGH employees are throwing them away then they probably shouldn't be selling sunglasses.
