Cool idea, I'm going to do some research into it, and see what it would involve. My only concern would be that people would just start IM'img as opposed to posting, and then there isn't a post for people to find later on.

that is quite a valid point, but I think due to the time difference between users, posts will still be used- whereas the chat will be used for just smalltalk between online members...
