“Clearing” A frame

Has anyone had any experience clearing crystal colored frames like crystal black or grey smoke?

I have one that I really want to have cleared but I’m not sure if it will even for being that my frame is grey smoke.

I know some frames had a clear base where they were painted but I was hoping maybe grey smoke could also be made clear!

Similar query, I recently bought an Ignite Fade Drop Point and don't really like the three-color gradient. Can I make the arms totally clear? On initial look, the temples are clear and have been painted on. But the paint seems to be infused, and not just painted on.
