Cobalt Eye Jackets.. Are they real?

Just bought these recently. Had to have them because I had a pair when I was younger. They look very nice. They came with the original box. But I noticed a few things that seemed off. I did a little research and it seems that they are probably a real, early version but I need an expert opinion. Sorry if the pics aren't great.

Real. Be very careful with those if you wear them. It’s made of old o matter and is brittle. They break at the hinge and in the middle of the arm often. I would recommend looking for the next generation eye jacket (new EJ). Those also came in cobalt/+red and Being made of the newer omatter, they’re much stronger so you can wear them with less worry.

Thanks for the response. I have read that they are brittle, and my first pair broke in the middle of the arm. If I can find a new eye jacket in this color way I'll try to snag them.
