I'm a big fan of the Jawbone/Racing Jacket non vented of course . But the Split Jacket was more refined could be worn with a shirt & tie on a evening out just as the Straight Jacket could.

Very true ... You can slip in a afternoon/evening ( vr28 or pers. ) like lense instead of a daytime/sport lense ( fire, +red ) and you're good to go...

Oakley definitely had confidence in this frame at one point or else they wouldn't have made Ducati or IH editions (or any other special edition I missed)... Which are big sellers for them !

Counter hypothesis?

I was thinking about Fast Jackets being discontinued as stated by the OP. The design is fairly fresh and they put quite a lot of effort to design it (switchlock) and make it sell well (marketing). And it sells well, that's why I doubt FJ will be discontinued.

Split Jackets are a different story.
