Because like everything else, why risk innovation when you can sit and pad your pockets on the misinformed masses that eat spoon fed processed foods, listen to everything they watch/read and can’t develop an informed opinion if it was required of them.
The guy who owned/ran Lux was no dummy. He knew how good Oakleys were and how popular they were. He knew he could make a fortune turning a premium product into a disposable one (by making it cheaper) with a recurring revenue from a culture that now looks at everything as disposable.

I have no proof other than the fact that the newer Fives squared frames are different in weight than the original Fives squared. There isn't a drastic enough frame style difference that would warrant the weight change so the only thing I can deduce is the material changed. Which I'm sure they have done throughout the OMatter product line on anything new coming out.

Just read the first few posts and realized people have a very skewed understanding of “made in China”...

We, as Americans, cannot and will not ever live without things being made in China...

We only care about “made in America” when we’re buying overpriced garbage that may or may not be of higher quality than the American stuff...

Made in China doesn’t always mean “trash”...

I agree...

It doesn’t necessarily mean trash but it sure doesn’t scream premium either...

Furniture
Tools ( knives included )
Wallets (modern)
Tv’s
Speakers
Winter jackets

All things I’ve noticed which are of better quality when (North) American made

Made in China = trash. Garbage. Basura. Bottom of the barrel. **** on a shingle. Dookie doo. Poop. Hillary Clinton. Russian collusion. Socialism. Democrats. @Wicked . Dookie loud!

Way more stuff than that, but you get what I’m saying...

Take everything out of your life that’s made in China and you might be left with a wooden rocking chair your grandpa bought from a flea market and an old Zenith TV lol...

But my furniture says "American signature" on it!
