Does the Mars Box have hand written serial number?

Interested in a listing but notice the hand written serial number on the box - is that standard for the Mars back in the day?

Yes it is how it was done originally.
I have several Mars examples done in this fashion.
Aside from the high cost there is no reason not to have interest.

The $53 is international shipping; the OP link is to ebay UK. He's got the same listing in the US for $10 shipping. But still listed at $750 USD; I'd say $200 - $300 too much...

I can imagine it is a community where someone knows someone else...the joy of collecting
