ebay plating services

Just so frustrating the turn around time...

Plating/anodizing cannot be that hard... you tube videos show anodizing just involves dunking it in a baking soda solution with a battery and running a certain voltage through it...
Plating is something I haven't looked into yet but I remember those goofy gold electroplating pens people would use to make their Lexus emblems gold etc. Cannot be that hard... Is it? Is this not something I could DIY
There is a LOT more to anodizing than that.

Here are some anodized pieces. Some went well, some did not. Not all frames are made same. There’s also a busted nose bridge in there. That’s what you can expect if you don’t line up everything perfectly when you put it back together.

Check the color charts for anodizing. 30v doesn't get you very much and for the money you spend you may as well get a 120v.

Thanks for the advice! You say to check the color chart, is there a guide I am missing on the forum somewhere?
From what I gather to reproduce an oem plasma it's a plating of metal, not an anodized finish.. What exactly is the plating, does anyone know? Nickle?

Sweet stuff. That finish on the R2 looks great

Yeah, customize is not that easy...
There is a learning curve in each of the process, disassembly, cleaning, polishing and anodizing...
Im in the anodizing learning... and it’s very hard to color match different mass parts...anodizing knife clips are much more easier than X Metal or Pit Boss plates...
Im doing some other finish tryouts...Will pat here if o reach good stuff

I sent a pair of frames to aggjsp about a month and a half ago. I have always wanted to try out a copper finish so I gave it a go. He got them back recently, but they were pretty dark, so I think he is sending them back to have them redone.

I am not that worried them, it just takes time. It is not as bad a when I sent 2 pairs of Dr. Chop years ago and didn't see them for almost a year!

I sent a pair of PB1's to someone years ago (~8 years now) and never saw them again, I got a picture of an empty box and a claim that a fedex employee must have raided it. It was not insured. Ever since then I always hold my breath when I drop a pair in the mail. It's a risk!
