Exactly, and those big socks can be quite dangerous if you trip over them or step on them, my mom used to complain about that a lot. A stiff and crusty size 15 sock on the floor, is a hazard, and of course impossible to wash clean again.

When really stiff and crusty, they can shatter into a thousand pieces, like T-1000 in Terminator 2

Which actually brings me back to my previous post ! quite spooky.
