I am Jim Jannard...
When sending a frame to a lens cutter, is it helpful to include the original lenses, in order to help the lens cutter with getting the proper base curve of the lenses? Or is this not needed and the lens cutter just needs the frames?
The reason I ask is because I'm sending a Trenchcoat to a new company I just came across (Tajima-Direct) and asked them this very same question. Their response was that including the lenses would help, but not necessary. They would be able to determine the base curve of the lenses based on the frame.
I find this a little hard to believe and I'm wondering if I should include the OEM lenses, or just send them the frame.
Thoughts?
