Hydrophobic Pen Kit

I know this is more of an accessories post, but I thought I might get some good advice from my fellow X-Metalites.

I just recently bought the Hydrophobic Pen kit and had a couple of questions:

1) Is the coating safe if I use eyeglass cleaner after treatment?

2) After I apply the coating, I noticed it leaves an oily film after I try to buff it off with a microfiber cloth. Am I using too much or not buffing it off enough?

3) Is one coat usually good enough, or do you use multiple coats?

Thanks ahead for replies!

How long do you wait to let it air dry? I usually wait about two minutes, perhaps I should wait longer?

do you apply the coating on both front and back side of the lens?

Did you ever find out an answer to this? I just ordered this kit myself for my Revant Optics Polarized lenses in my Chainlinks.

You should apply it to surfaces that will be exposed to water. Typically that's just the outer side but you can put it on both if you want to.

FWIW, I apply to both sides, I swim in salt water, the "sheeting" action is awesome.

Seems I need to reapply about once a month.
