I Am A Believer In Linegear!

ucdavis: I think the trends is going that way - monopoly. But Japan is a different story. Japan never admit, but it is a socialism society with capitalism business. People here with a cleaning career like street cleaner, lake, or bus driver, or farmers (not to talk about middle class and the elite who have a good life, work Monday Friday, spend weekend spending money supporting local businesses) they all dress well to work, drive a nice small car, farmer own at least two car one for daily life one for transporting goods to market as well as tractors and stuff. The government have not choice but to spread wealth, example of this country political system, Prime Minister can not stay longer more than one year (ok, not even term, exception is the Abe clan which stay technically 3 terms as of now) unless they do a good job for the majority.

So back to topic, it is unlikely any Japanese specialty shop sell themselves to the world tycoon. We know for sure the Lens ya, and Zero, they want to live daily life supporting those in need of the lenses, we Linegear synergy with them buying their special lenses plus our rubbers and supporting X-Metal owners. When you are here, you understand the words like never before: respect, deep meaning, humility, head bowing like handshake in the US,.... Guys come visit here and drink Yamazaki together Or Guiness :D.

In short, in Japan, people $hare for others to survive, rather than go alone very right to the top, they help a group to go together. (Japan after 1945 indeed)

Japanese also don't chuck their grandparents in old folks homes. My dad spent some time in Japan as a marine and always says he wants to retire there. I hope to at least visit soon.

Ok back on topic. When I have need for new parts, I'll be going with LG fa sho.

that's the way it should be to begin with. I know history and japan was never the japan of old since ww2 its nice to know that japs has a different mind set. I mean here in the U.S. we actually eat our young to survive. if you can get millions I want trillions more that's the mentality. "people $hare for others to survive, rather than go alone very right to the top,". if only that applies to the majority how a lovely peaceful world we would live in BUT NOT UNFORTUNATELY.

LOL that's funny most Asian countries never heard of retirement homes, group homes etc. I mean we/Asians takes care of our elderly as much as we can its an obligation. :focus: forum members are pretty much supportive of linegear products same with synergies products.

The x man, no idea at all, but I like "Hotel California", "Still loving you"... haha

@SiRacer420 : Thank you. Please come, since PM Abe back to his third term, English able staff are in high demand, maybe you can teach here. Also the Tokyo 2020 are coming, the government send 2,000 middle school teachers annually abroad to learn English, to learn from the native speaker.

@pjd1234 : Right, we Asians were living 3 generations in the same house, quarrel everyday, laugh, eat at a big table, everybody mind other biz.... but now thing goes nuclear (couple and kid maximum 18 then kick out of the house to Uni dorm)

I am going to try and help clarify some of this information:

◆LINEGEAR makes and sells custom-made lenses for Oakley X-metal series. --Yes they do

◆LINEGEAR uses the lenses which meet the standards of the Household Goods Quality Labeling Act by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

With the cooperation of Lens-Ya Jinbocho Shop, which is the only lens specialty shop in Japan, all products use the high function, high grade lenses made in Japan.

All the lenses including polarizing lenses are made of polycarbonate which is not breakable with the shock. AKA the "Drop Ball Test"

・Original lenses/Unpolarizing AKA non-polarized

8-curve 2mm thickness spherical lens Poly has a 1.5mm minimum thickness

UVA, UVB (ultraviolet wavelength) 100% cut Poly is Opaque in UV spectrum

partly with prism-adjustment function It's either a prism or not. And my lensmeter says they are not.

・Polarizing lenses

8-curve 1.5mm thickness spherical lens I think they got the thicknesses mixed up. Adding a polarizing filter makes Poly go from 1.5 mm to 2mm. 0.5mm film plus 1.5mm lens.

UVA, UVB (ultraviolet wavelength) 100% cut

[Processing] Because it is the non-prescription spherical lens,

the vision should not be influenced by PD (pupillary distance), The PD is most definitely altered by the parabolic wrap of these frames . (See Oakley's XYZ Optics) That's what the prisms compensate for. Linegear NO PRISMS present

but the PD is set at 63mm which is the average length. After processed by the edging machine, the lenses are hand-adjusted to precisely fit the frames. Yes because of the Plano lenses the edger setting is moot.

[About the distortion]Because it is the 2mm-thick 8-curve lens, it is possible that the vision might be

slightly distorted toward the edge of the frame. Although the lenses are processed to produce as little distortion as possible, with the individual difference in sensitiveness, some people might experience certain discomfort. Please contact our shop in such cases for proper support. There are better quality lenses like Oakley that do produce as little distortion that is possible, and they are hands down better lenses.

The Post that was listed before this one had pictures comparing the two products. Get a projector and compare them for yourselves. Though many are happy with your products, many more are happy with $3.00 sunglasses the find in a gas station. Oakley is not about that. I am a professional and cannot allow misinformation to be passed along. I do not believe that you intend harm on anyone, nor do I believe you putting anyone at risk. There are many lens manufacturers out there that produce comparable products to Oakley, what I have seen from line gear is not equal. It's not bad, but definitely not for me.

One also starts to wonder if and when Lux - which owns practically every eyewear related biz in the world creating a global monopoly- might start messing with the Oakley lens quality.
I have done business with both when they were separate and since they were bought, Cheap Lenses Won't happen.

Hey @Oakleyezed: Mind asking, are you a professional optician?

Would you mind informing the members of your profile? This will say a lot about who you are officially backing. I just don't like the idea that a custom lenses cutter have to say bad thing about competitor, I believe we can keep saying good thing about ourselves!! Not just we do not have intention to lie, we just put the truth from the manufacturer. Why don't you ask us to to pass this information to the Japanese Lens Ya?

@InfiniteHero : He writes email to me that it was from an optician, not from his own experiment, maybe it is a chance for you to make it right!

This has made Linegear look like a bad guy.

We are just a small business, making our daily life, plus support 2 part-time students. WE ARE NOT TYCOON. **LINEGEAR** Oakley X-Metal custom replacement lenses, rubber parts & parts shop from Japan.
