“Jacket” used in many Oakley frame names?

I was just asked a question by someone and they asked “why does Oakley use the word jacket with so many frames”

I honestly was stumped because I wasn’t sure. There’s so many and

Could anyone help me out answering what “jacket” means In Oakley glasses?

Also think it may have something to do with "full metal jacket" which is a common vintage colorway
 
Well basically that was Oakley's Phase 3 protocol. "Jacket", and it kinda stretched to the point that it became a "throwback" before they were able to shift to their "Underwear" Phase 4 protocol. The Luxottica acquisition did get in the way as well, and supposedly the are some UW designs straight up discarded because Lux wanted to go down their own happy trail. Switchlock was never planned at the time, but instead a compression/elastic feature. Kinda like how Jackets would wrap, UW designs would just hug but allow full range of motion.
