as far as i know its the hydrophobic property of the lenses that also repels oil...

Oleophobic, i.e. oil repellant.

PMd on the VR50s.

Yeah the hydrophobic coating is something different, the oleo is to repel oils, in this case usually body oils / fingerprints...

Dang it, nice score on the VR50s... I was temped but I already have a set, they would have been backups... congrats!

Yeah, something oleophobic is potentially hydrophilic so won't always equate.

Thanks on the lenses - the non-etched lens in my Finitos is rattly in the frame, I'm hoping this one fits better. That will leave me one whole set of VR50s for another frame at some point
