Lens Etching Question...

It would be illegal because the Knicks were not compensated or gave permission. Sports teams make a great deal of money on licensing a are very protective of their trademarks because of it. They generally do not like others making money off of their trademarks without them getting something in return. It would be like some guy making his own Oakley fruit of the loom tshirts and selling them. You can pretty much bet the farm Oakley would have an issue with that.

Got an email today saying new york knicks couldnt be used but they would do knicks, go figure!

I have heard in the past they won't to TM or copyright names or logos for legal reasons, but who knows anymore. It's all in who you know and who you talk to anymore. Good luck bro. One day I will get the right equipment to plunge into the detailed end of laser etching...

Yeah, they learned the hard way back when the original NCAA minutes, XX and M frames were done as they didn't acquire all of the licenses from the schools and made them anyway, pretty sure Notre Dame was the big one.... trademarked names and phrases can be a total pain in the ass!
