The difference in ANSI rating is due to the frame material, not the lens.

Thin wire frames do not absorb impact as well as the O-Matter frames

It's a harder find but they do make a Balistic Z87.1 rated crosshair. As far as I know it's probably one of the only wireframes oakleys has made that's certified
