here is the link to the article Rand Paul’s campaign told to ditch the Ray-Bans | OnPolitics

also the article is posted below.

If there are still going to be “Rand”-brand sunglasses in the 2016 presidential campaign, they won’t be Ray-Bans.

The famous maker of the iconic sunglasses, preferred by stars, celebrities and Sen. Rand Paul himself, has taken issue with the Kentuckian’s attempt to sell the specs under his name on his 2016 campaign website.

The Ray-Ban complaint led Paul’s operation to suspend an offer to supporters for $150 “Rand” Wayfarer sunglasses. The campaign conceded in its pitch that $150 was “more than you might normally pay for sunglasses,” but the price was a contribution, after all.

And the campaign said the sunglasses were “the intersection of politics and cool.”

But they were NOT cool with Ray-Ban and they told the GOP presidential candidate to cease.

“We learned that the Rand Paul campaign was selling Ray-Ban sunglasses imprinted with the “Rand” logo without our consent,” Jane Lehman, a spokeswoman for the manufacturer’s parent company Luxottica, said in a statement. “We asked the campaign to remove the product from their site.”

“Ray-Ban is not at all a political brand – we’re focused on making sunglasses that people love,” Lehman said.

The Paul campaign did not respond to arequest for comment from The Hill, which first reported the news.

So the Ray Ban products were altered to show Pauls name and sold on the web, all without the permission of Lux? Or is Lux going back on the deal that was struck?
