The hard part.........getting the model and making the mould without damaging the original.......a 3-D laser scanner might work

If you could figure out a way to make it happen I think I would probably be willing to use my statue as the "guinea pig" so to speak for the mold base... Food for thought

I too would think a 3D scanner is the best alternative. creating a working mold without risk of using an original and getting the best results seems highly unlikely anyway else.
