Ideally, you'd want to shoot this through an airbrush. You can buy the Tamiya clear and add in as much Tamiya Flat Base as you need to achieve the degree of "flatness" you need. Always experiment on an old beater frame or piece of scrap plastic before shooting on the actual frame. Use low pressure to shoot and a double action brush is always better since you can control the paint flow while shooting. Make sure you dust on several light coats instead to trying to cover everything in one pass (even if using a spray can). I would suggest masking off the areas covered by the rubbers to keep the finish from wearing off with repeated rubber changes...but it's not absolutely necessary to do so.
