I'm sure you long time wearers know the strap on this thing sucks over time. Mine got stretched out, had pilling, and just looked nasty. Decided to cut it out and put on a new cord.
-Pull the elastic out as far as you can without ripping and snip it.
-Pick up an eyelet kit from the hardware or craft store (I got mine from Home Depot)
-Scrounge a long soft nylon cord and cord stopper/adjustment (I got mine from an old mask; you all should have a bunch by now)
-Punch an eyelet where the old strap was
-Knot your nylon cord large enough to not go through the eyelet, and slightly singe it to harden it and prevent it from coming back through
-Loop the slack through the existing hole and loop through whatever stopper you use. Leave room for adjustment. Trim as needed (singe that end, too.)
