My First Frogs

I just got these from a friend who picked them up at an estate sale for...............$0.50.

To me these look to be first gen. but Im no expert.
Anybody know what the color these lenses are?

Should be the first gen matte black violet pair. Is there "Japan" inscribed on the tip of one of the earstems?

Yup it has the "Japan" on the right stem, very faint but its there. Sometimes the lenses look more blue then violet.

First generation is most easily identified with the metal hinges and the lugs on the outside of the stems. I think the logos on the stems are not raised, either (I'm not an expert though).

I'd say they're Violet. Nothing blue was around for first gen, but that's not to say it wasn't added after since black/violet wasn't a stock colorway.
