New Frogskin owner question...

Hi guys and gals, so I bought my first pair of frogskins, I got Gyazo - acb75124f3ea7a59cf832f5678bcfe5a.png

Made in U.S.A by the way
My question is : the arms are loose they dont lock open like all my other oakleys.
Is this normal? are the arms supposed to be flimsy like that? they dont stand they fall back on.

I did see that is says hinge swing in the database description , could that be it?

They aren't Cam hinge ... Which is what usually causes the arms to 'snap' open ...

The swing hinge isn't overly sturdy ...

With costant wear, it will smooth the 'joints' even more so. Thus ending up with looser earstems.

Is there a way to prevent this other than not closing the hinges? Are there any remedies if the stems are already loose?

Not to my knowledge. It's part of the 'deal': you wear them, you WEAR them.......other than careful application of very controlled blobs of CA (Cyanocrylate Glue), too rebuild the worn areas.........

You can tighten them with a dial micrometer.
