This. Chasing shelf count will have you looking at your collection in 6 months wondering why the hell you bought half that stuff, you don't wear them and you don't really like them. Get what you like and will wear, they'll add up soon enough!

I don't really look at numbers much or try to increase the count but when I find a pair I like I buy them. I've lost interest in a few pairs over the years and sold them or traded them with friends. Its a vicious cycle, lol.

I guess I'm not the only one that seems to get mis-matched boxes. I have had a few over the years but the only one I ever really cared much about keeping was mismatched, lol.
