New user! Help needed

Hi all, new to the forum & Oakley, from the UK!

Struggling to work out the difference between Racing / Split / Water / Wind Jacket!

I think I've got this right in saying the Wind jacket is the split with the inner gasket?

Interested in the differences between the above but also any advice from anyone whose used any of the above for sports, mainly football / soccer!
You wear the racing jackets in a race
You wear the wind jackets when it is windy
You wear the water jackets if it really moist out
And you split the rest of the time in the split jackets.

This is the Third Best Advice Ever Given

The first and second are, in order,
"Don't pee into the wind"
and
"You better grab that and make sure it's a girl first"

Welcome to the community. :)

The older racing jackets are a monocoque design in one piece with non folding arms. They are often referred to as “Racing Jackets Gen 1” and “Racing Jackets Gen 2”. These share the same rubbers. If I’m not mistaken, they’re also referred to as “Pro Racing Jackets”.

They are not to be confused with the (New) Racing Jacket (which are similar to “jawbones” and have folding arms and easily changeable lenses). If someone refers to just “racing jacket”, they are usually talking about the New Racing Jacket, and sometimes you will need to seek clarification either by a picture or the Gen 1 or Gen 2 tag.

Note that the Racing Jacket Gen 1 is larger than Racing Jacket Gen 2. Nose and ear socks are interchangeable.

The water jacket is the same size as the “Racing Jacket Gen 2”, but it has a lanyard and different earsocks (that take a strap) and came with hydrophobic solution for the lenses. Lenses, ear socks and nosepiece rubbers are interchangeable between water and racing jackets.

Jawbones were released later and the “Gen 2 Jawbone” is what is officially called the New Racing Jacket. The reason for the name change is because the company that produced jawbone bluetooth headpieces forced Oakley to change it’s name.

The New Racing Jackets are pretty much the same as jawbones except they have easily swappable (and different sized) icons, ONLY come with vented (including prizm) lenses and have holes in the earstems for a removeable lanyard. The jaws, ear socks, nosepieces and lenses are all interchangeable between the jawbone and new racing jacket.
