No More Juliet Factory Tune Ups

I am planning to buy a set of (2) temple screws from linegear. Also their off-white colored washers for the temple arms. On ebay, hopefully they can combine shipping. This will be my first experience with their parts.
Yes, it does combine shipping for you on eBay. The washers are very thick. I mean very thick! So you only need one on top and one on the bottom.

So basically they still offer a "tune up" that includes nothing whatsoever except for nose bridge tightening. For $60 that is a rip off... At least xman checks out the screws and lubes everything up. The only thing that made the Oakley tune up worth doing was if you needed absolutely everything replaced on the frame. Otherwise you are just wasting money and time with them (assuming you don't need to have the OEM nose bridge rubber- I know some people absolutely prefer the OEM rubber (I'm not one of them)). Oh well, at least now we know they are officially out of spare parts!
~$41 in the EU for tune up and replacing all the rubber, includes shipping. Does make the US service look a bit expensive.

I would agree, particularly if the following is true. I am having rx lenses put in a pair of XSs and they need to be sent to the US apparently because the Northern Irish Service Center has been closed down. By extension, this would mean that any servicing on X-Metals would also need to be sent to the US with all the associated shipping costs. Unless this is handled by another department/location.

That seems strange. I received my Juliets back from a tune up last week and they went to the Netherlands for that. It looks to me like they replaced all rubber but not the hinges. I also got some them to put in some new lenses while they had them.

Perhaps it is just something to do with it being RX lenses?

Yep, tune ups used to go to Northern Ireland from the UK but now they go to the Holland HQ. The girl who phoned to confirm payment details was Dutch too.

Sending them to the US must be down to the prescription.

It would appear that Holland is the European Oakley Service Centre now. It does make some sense as logistically it is more central. Clearly they do not do the rx lenses though. Apparently Oakley shine lasers through them once mounted to check for optical correctness. Maybe this is a more specialised procedure?
