Oakley black stand tips

What's wrong with this picture?

I was reorganizing the case a little bit when I noticed one of my triples didn't have those little stops on the ends of two of the tiers. Of the 16 assorted single/double/triple stands I have, none of the others are like that, nor do I recall seeing or there being discussion on this sort of thing before.

Anybody know anything about this? Seen it before? Any kind of story / explanation for this sort of thing?
