Oakley HDO 3D

We all remember a few years back when 3D was on its usual 15 year rotation of coming back. Oakley saw it as a business opportunity, especially with 3D TV’s. We partied with a few director and released a very limited amount of 3D glasses using the Gascan frame. The first was for Transformers - I was given these in the movie theater. We had an Oakley only premier - booze included. The second was for Tin Tin. These two were specifically branded for the movies. The final was for Tron - we may have had a branded pair, but plain white is what I remember getting at the premier. I think we were over it by then. They provided a much better experience then the cheap pair the theater provided. Plus you looked awesome in them. The biz plan was to put a kiosk in the theater and we were convinced people would drop $120 on a pair the could use for all their 3D viewing events. We all know where 3D ended... but it will be back in another 10 years or so.

You're correct. I remember going to the Oakley premier for that. I don't believe they gave glasses away for that.
