Flawed... yeah. The first pair went for repair three times with lens cracks. The fourth time they were replaced with XX's. Never saw that pair of R1's again, still have the box and coin for what was a very early pair of 97's. Still kick myself for putting up with that. Didn't even get a box with the XX's.

A lot of people did that back then, Oakley offered a swap and a lot of people were happy to do it to avoid the lens cracking

I had a similar experience with my R1s too, cracked lenses twice within the same amount of weeks, so when it happened a third time, I opted for Plasma - Fire Juliets. Ended up with the R1 box and gumpf , without a Juliet box.
