Oakley watch stand differences

So.....
I really like the black watch stand. The flimsy clear one kinda sucks. What I’m finding is that the top of the block may or may not allow the black one to fit.

The top of this thing has a clear plastic piece. Some of my display blocks have this piece. Most don’t. The ones that do not have this clear plastic insert can fit the black stand just fine.
Has anyone removed this insert thing? Do I just need to be more careful when I buy these to make sure it doesn’t have it?
