what is the deal is "sample" as the SN#?

Exactly what it sounds like - they were sample pairs salespeople used while selling to partner channels. As far as value, really only a novelty.

That's what I meant by value being only a novelty - they don't really add or remove value in general compared to a regular pair, unless you find the right collector who cares about that sort of thing.

They look legit to me too. Expensive though - is the seller throwing the other lenses in? They don’t really say. If they are Oakley lenses, the price is more palatable.

Legit, but.. the box is for a carbon/black. Doesn't show in pictures but I inquired on them when it was on craigslist. So don't expect a matching set.
