OBO?

I'm curious to know, as far as this website is concerned, what is meant by "or best offer" in the exchange threads? Does it mean the seller will entertain offers lower than the asking price? Or does it mean the seller will accept a bidding war of escalating prices?

I've seen both meanings in different communities, so I'm curious how it's used here.

Asking 100 obo means I want 100$ but I will listen to offers and might accept less than my asking price.

seller posts 100 then you offer 80 then seller goes up to 90 then you both agreed on that price! so "best offer" is 90 for you and the seller....

What if I told you I did search for it and didn't find the answer I was looking for. The link you posted doesn't say anything about OBO. No need to be a jerk about it... from what I've seen you all are pretty friendly here.

Thanks... I did come across that thread. Unfortunately, the question wasn't trying to figure out the initials... it was trying to understand what is meant by "or best offer" in this particular community.
