Oh Greta darling..... could you please take a look at this

I agree that China should be doing much better as they hold 1/3 of the world's population but you know that the great majority of the western brands' products are made there right? So, who's fueling their pollution in the end?

And US is still the second biggest polluter... may have curbed its plastic waste but still emits massive amounts of CO2 to the stratosphere. Hopefully that will change now that the electric cars are becoming more popular and affordable.
Electric cars, seriously? Dude the pollution from the mining for the batteries is next level detrimental! Electric cars isn't the solution that it has been sold to be. Its definitely not that simple a fix, that's for sure.

Again, I never said they shouldn't do it. I'm just pointing out the fallacy of the situation. The modern more civilized nations definitely shouldn't be footing the bill for global initiatives for this precise reason. It all ends up a massive tax and redistribution of wealth.

I'm not saying it's good, but given that there is only one globe we are sharing the option to not both change our ways and help developing countries change theirs really isn't there.

With that statement I agree 100%.
And yes, electric cars will help in the long run. What do you think it's more sustainable, keeping the carbon monoxide and dioxide pollution, along with oil and other fluids that regular cars require, or a battery that will last for much longer and that can be recycled?

And that's why every improvement matters, be it small or big. Arguing who's more guilty and using one kind of pollution to justify the other will lead human race into complete chaos and, consequently, collapse. Earth has been screaming louder year after year to make us wake up to how we're treating her. You can see that by all the natural disasters that are becoming more constant and fiercer, the temperatures are becoming more extreme, the ocean levels are rising, and the seasons are starting later/ending sooner than when they used to.

As the older generations die, the younger ones will actually hold the power they need to make significant changes in how things work, and hopefully, it won't take too long. The necessary green technologies to make it happen already exist but they're not implemented in large scale because of the fukcing corporate greed and political lack of interest.

The problem with 'helping' is that too many think it's to just tax the wealthier to give to the poorer. That isn't a solution. That's irresponsible theft! The poorer nations are poorer for self inflicted reasons majority of the time but we're called racist for stating such. That's ludicrous! Real change isn't going to be with a monetary value, its going to be at a grassroots learn to govern better level. Better civics and better modernization is the key but some peoples can't be bothered to wake up. Female genital mutilation is still acceptable practice in parts of the world. People that still do that craziness in 2020 aren't going to be burdened with plastic straws problems or co2 emissions nonsense!! But if you say anything about their culture you're a racist and insensitive. That's what has to change!!!

Dunno about that, man... it's only been 16 months since she started her environment advocacy journey and she's only 17 years old. She has probably learned a lot about how the world works in this time frame but she has a lot more to learn, after all, she hasn't even finished her high school studies. Maybe she starts traveling to these third world countries when she gets enough funding and support, who knows? And it's quite laudable she's on this path cause most people her age are just concerned with getting drunk and high and twerking or whatever fad is on atm.

And let's face it, the first world countries are the ones who really have the financial capacity to fund the development and implementation of green technologies but most still don't do that due to political reasons and the greed of a few who control the most assets. While this keeps going, I'm sure there won't be much of a change really.
indeed... but the main threat to mother earth and the no 1 factor in our world's decline is: overpopulation.....

in asia and africa

A very inconvenient truth indeed

Yes, that is indeed what drives the world to reach its limit, but there's nothing that we can do about that really... Only way to fix that is if these countries' governments invested in quality education, which is not the case nor I think it will ever be, cause the dumber the population, the easier it is to manipulate them.

Also, those same countries with high population growth rates have high mortality rates, so that's got to count for some balance...

So, again, everyone should focus on what they can do to mitigate their impact on the world and also make their neighbors and closest friends aware of how they can do the same. Every bit counts and just giving up because of this or that will not help either and the world would purge the cancer called humanity sooner. Your children and grandchildren will suffer even more if the world as we know collapses like that.
