Oil Rig/Gascan Mod

Has anyone ever tried to swap the parts of these two before? I've always liked the arms of the Oil Rigs but hated the frames. And everybody has a pair of Gascan so they are cheap and it wouldn't be the end of the world if I messed a pair up. I was thinking if you mod the frames of the Gascans the Oil Rig arms would mount up to them.
Any thoughts on this?

Do the Oil Rigs and the Gascans have the same hinge system?
