Interesting story. I have heard of athlete issued R1s but they were ti and persimmon all the storied r1 have been TI not xmetal finish. It would not be far fetched to let the athletes have a choice of course.

Hmmmm, that is interesting. I might send Sir Matt an email to hear straight from the horses mouth, so to speak!
The guy who sold them to me, said he was really close friends with Matt, and he wore these during the Sydney 2000 Olympics - watch this space...

Cool story....... But rowing? Oars folk?

Rowing is the Only sport where you can take it up as a beginner and win an olympic gold within 3 years!
