I agreed PayPal is taking lots of money out on each transactions + conversion. The part in currency conversion I sugguest to Try out REVOLUT or Transferwise which has virtual card or physical card to do your currency conversion. (way better rates than PayPal in conversion)

So the steps I used as follows:
1) Open an account on as above
2) linked the card to Paypal
3) top up your own currency then do currency exchange to the one you want later (very close to market rates)
4) when paying via PayPal remember to change the source of funding to the currency card and the currency you want the other person to receive.
5) pay as usual

At least this method you get more out of it but PayPal fee 4% still can't get away with it.
