the oddity you describe is what they call hazing. It's like stress lines all through the lenses or in portions. I have had that issue in the past with many pairs. Causes one hell of a glare when the light hits it too. Very hard to photograph, but it sucks none the less. I have a standard pair of Ice replacement lenses for those, but they aren't polar.
