Replacing C-Wire 1.0 Earstem question

I'm rebuilding a pair of c-wire 1.0s. The screw hole in the hinges of the earstems when removed dont line up to be screwed back in do to the tension in the spring hinge. Is there a trick to these type of hinges to reinstall?
