Replacing Leather On Mars

Does anyone have experience or words of wisdom when it comes to replacing the leather wrapping on Mars?

I was hoping it would be fairly straightforward. Take off the old leather, make a stencil for the new leather, cut and stitch. Am I over simplifying it?

well i mean thats the general case yes, but it usually doesn't go that smoothly. Best case its still going to take multiple hours to do one pair, and thats if your thread doesnt break from pulling it though.
