What do you mean "square stems"?

thread is here somewhere but put broadly:

1st gen xmetal R1s have a squared inner earstem vs the newer rounded ones. if the SN were printed on these the same spot as other xmetals they would be printed on a flat surface as you can see in the last pic on first post.

while the ti r1 gen difference lies in the finish and the plasma in the serial suffix.
