I would say the lens quality is determined by the manufacturer..... However, if you're asking whether or not it's a good color choice is a different story. It looks good true but it's not good on a really bright day.

I might be odd, but I love ruby on a bright day. I mean, it's no 24K, but nothing is. I love 24K.

ruby is a great lens for a day out. the blue base makes the sky bluer, and also neutralises the yellow from the sun, giving everything a more white-illiuminated appearance.
positive red does the same.

Spot on. I just think the +Red are a bit too light for a sunny day out.
