Saved a Minute Machine from the Parts Bin

Priced right I bought this neglected one for spare parts. It was moderately scratched, bottom button was stuck in, the bezel coating was pealing, dead battery and dirty enough to be a health hazard. First a good bath in the ultrasonic cleaner. Removed the back, crown and movement. To check the bezel I had to remove the crystal. Now with a pile of parts that I had no immediate need for I started thinking on a little custom work. The coating was coming off the bezel so I tried polishing but the metal had a gold tint to it. I ended up blasting it and airbrushing to match the hands. Soaked the button in Triflow and got it working. Refinished all the case and band pieces, still some fine tuning to go. More airbrushing and reassembly.

Damn,
That looks great man! You know I like customs. I wouldn't mind adding that to my collection.

Thanks all. Well this one no longer exists. I returned the silver face to the original case with a new brown leather band. I acquired a NIB SI all silver Ti band and will display the 2 together. I put in a all black face, had 2. Looks OK, maybe thinking silver looked better. Will post some pics of the new setup.
