Hey when did oakley switch from putting serial numbers on the earstem to putting model numbers on juliets?

Around 08 i believe. Could be wrong.

More of a two step process: from serials to no serials then to model/sku on the arms.
Off the top of my head 04 for the cessation of serials and 08 for the addition of model numbers.

On the topic of serial numbers on Juliets, why are the ones with them more "sought after" than the ones without? is it just because of "collectability" or are non-serialized frames inferior in some way?
